I'm Christl Marcontell, the owner of Kinesia Pilates.
I started Pilates to regain core-strength for aerial dance after pregnancy. That was over 20-years ago! I still find it is effective and interesting.

Our teachers are trained and certified in a direct lineage from Joe Pilates to Romana Kryzanowska.

Protecting the work of
After Joseph's death in 1967, his wife Clara Pilates continued the studio they founded in New York City for a few more years. In 1970, Romana became the director of what was by that time called "The Pilates Studio." Romana dedicated her life to preserving the work as closely as possible to what she learned teaching by his side.
Joseph H. Pilates was born in Germany in 1883 and immigrated to the United States in the 1920s. He dedicated his entire life to creating a system of exercise to help people attain excellent physical health and manage the stress of modern living.
She traveled for 60-years educating the next generation of Pilates teachers and forming an elite group of new teacher trainers to carry Pilates masterwork into the future.
