Pilates mat classes

At Kinesia Pilates studio in Downtown Seattle, mat classes are effective physical conditioning and budget friendly. Classes are limited to 7 people. In these classes, core muscles, “the powerhouse,” are emphasized. More advanced exercises like planking, twisting, and shoulder-stands are also taught, as well as personal modifications.  

The mat work was Joseph Pilates’ original invention, and he later developed a complete system of equipment to be integrated with his mat exercises.  In these classes you will learn the exercises found in his manual “Return to Life.”  If you are consistent in doing mat work, you will get results.  A stable center, supple joints, and more energy are among the benefits you will enjoy.

Drop-In Mat Classes: Come in and take a class when your busy schedule allows. Classes are 50 minutes long. We recommend that you have had private instruction, or have attended at least one Intro Reformer Series prior to joining the Mat Classes. Check out our online scheduler for current mat classes.

We limit class sizes so that we can know each student as an individual. In training we always have in mind your overall goals and health.

Mat work takes no more space than a bath towel. It is a practical addition to your home and travel self-care routine.
