Pilates Foundations Classes
In this small (three person) class you will learn the order of the introductory exercises and the correct technique, how to use the reformer safely, and personal modifications.
Emphasis is on correct form as well as teaching you to move through a sequence of exercises with attention to flowing transitions, resulting in a thorough workout. You will be introduced to the 6 Pilates Principles – Concentration, Centering, Control, Precision, Breath and Flow – and how to apply them throughout your workout. In addition to learning the basic reformer sequence, other commonly used Pilates equipment will be introduced; mat work, wunda chair, barrel, dumbbells, magic circle and others. A senior Pilates instructor leads the class and supports you with hands-on adjustments and guidance.
The Pilates instructors at Kinesia Pilates Studio in Downtown Seattle are second-generation teachers of Romana's Pilates, certified by Joesph Pilates' protege, master teacher Romana Kryzanowska and Sari Mejia Santo.
